I think sites like have2have got started in a similar way. Dunno about now, though, they seem to be a front for places like Amazon.com.
It makes sense to order this way - reduces shipping costs for everyone as that seems to be the big cost when it comes to ordering from the US.
I don't need anything from mojotone, too many small parts for me to injure myself with ? , but good on you Matt for coming up with the idea.

Hi Guys,
Just a quick bump and update. I'm still hoping to close this order this Friday, the 4th. I'm meeting with Arjun later today to start to arrange all the paperwork and my importers permit from SARS. Start making your list of bits and piece and then PM them to me when you are ready. I will need the quanties along with the mojo item number and a description/name of the product & price, just so I can cross reference it.
I hope to get a clearer confirmation from Arjun today RE approximate shipping costs and ad valorem charges, these are in addition for the 14% VAT that as honest, tax paying citizen we have to pay... I 'm not willing to compromise and ship these goods under 'cheaper' tariff headings, it will all be legal and above board... my guess is it will still be ALOT cheaper than standard SA retail.
Cheers

Matta,
I'm sorting my order out tonight.
You will have PM first thing tomorrow morning!

@ Matta
Tonight I'll look through what I need as well and wil PM you the details.
Just a suggestion.....The JHB/Pretoria orders can be shipped to me and everyone can collect from my place....That way we can reduce the shipping costs from CT to JHB......Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks Guys, I got both!
Just a quick report back from my meeting with Arjun. I have all the documents completed and will drop them off with him tomorrow. It seems as I expected that the duties will be 7.6% of the value of or items, funnily musical parts are levied and instruments are not, but amps go figure. So to get a fairly accurate approximation we will be paying 7.6% duties on the items and an additional 14% VAT, I'm not VAT registered as I'm sure most of you aren't so no claiming back on that one.
The only unknown is the actual shipping costs, these we will only know when I have all the order, I then need to submit this to Mojo who can give me a total weight and size of the shipment, which I will in turn over to Arjun, who will work out the shipping totals and their levied fees.
Cheers

Hi Guys,
Just a reminder that tomorrow is the deadline. Thanks for those that have submitted their orders to me, I have added all the parts to my now somewhat lengthy spreadsheet. I will send everyone personalized invoices with my banking details early next week.

Hey Guys,
Orders are officially closed! I have spent the last 25 hours of the possible 48 over the last 2 days in recording sessions for a feature film so am going to need a day or 2 to adjust to 'admin guy' and will send out the invoices in this week.

Order Placed!
Let me just say that I am SOOOO glad that we have a Freight Forwarder working on the shipping... Mojo will only ship FedEx on international orders and the quote I received was over $500... that is almost the value of our combined orders ???
From here Mojo will need to collect the order, pack it and then let me know the final weight/carton sizes, then JAS will quote and collect it, in total it should not take more than 4 weeks, will keep you updated as it goes along.
Cheers

Yip, I would like to get something here as well when next order. Prompted by Mattas speaker mod to Fritz' Laney Cub 8, I want a Jensen C10R. So I contacted Jensen and they say no one in SA they know of and I must order from www.tubesandmore.com which seem to be pretty much the same prices as Mojo. Buggerred if I'm going to import a speaker or two so yes, plse next order let us know. Cheers
RobK
Take2 bring them in through their thing with Amazon. Don't know whether their price is right, though. Mojo might end up being cheaper.

Tubes & More are the North American agents for Jensen and are also my supplier. I'm waiting on JAS to see if they will consolidate an order with T&M for me and bring the Mojo Order in alongside the T&M, getting better pricing... if I can I will be able to offer you guys a better deal on the speakers. Even at WORST my pricing is still better than Take 2's.
Cheers

Mojo would be a lot cheaper by my reckoning. You could probably get an Eminence Ragin Cajun for that from Mojo, which is a great 10" speaker.

I see take2 want just under 6k for a Celestion Blue ? That is either insane or I'm never going to be able to upgrade the Wharfedale in my AC15 ☹
Edit: On closer inspection it's the "suggested" retail price, the price is still to be confirmed... hahaha. I suppose it could be bought for less at other places, still, it's a chunk of cash.
