For medium to long term storage , these are the options , which is best: ??? A) Strings tensioned, or strings loose ? B)In case , laying flat on floor....

Keep the strings on, but tune them down a bit.

Personally, I would keep them in the case, lying down. This is purely to protect them from getting knocked over, which might be a possiblity with the other options you mention.

You don't mention how long, but get some of those little silica packets as well, and place them in the cases to keep out the moisture. Although this might depend on how humid the storage place would be.

It might also depend on whether it is an acoustic (put a humidifier in instead of silica) or an electric (just do not put silica).

BAD IDEA, well the best idea until your house gets flooded!
So keep the guitars high off the ground, maybe flat in the top part of your cupboard!

Yes I agree with you, but will not protect the guitar when lying in water.

They are little boxes with a sponge or similar material in them. You soak them, wring off the excess water and put it in the case. For acoustics they are usually built so that they fit into the sound hole.

Where are you going to be storing the guitars? If it's on the highveld, for example, a humidifier is a pretty good idea for the acousti and bags of silica gel (which will dry out the air even more) are a no no!

If the guitar is plywood then you may get away with out using a humidifier. If it has a solid wood top or is all solid wood then a humidifier is probably a good idea. And you should keep it topped up.

Might be a good idea to take the guitars out every once in a while, examine them and have a bit of a play.
