2012?

Jaen-Pierre-Dowling · 2009-11-19T01:10:02+00:00

Firstly, if a topic like this is offensive to you whatsoever, please don't take part in it's discussion, or be offended by the opinions aired on this thread, seeing that it is just that - opinions. I am really not on a mission to cause discomfort or paranoia of any kind, I'd just like to hear what you guys think about the concept of the 2012 predictions? I'm (sad to say) a huge Zeitgeist follower, and I know that a lot of people dismiss any form of media that causes their believes discomfort. Each to his own, but I was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about what is said to be on store for us on the 21st of December, 2012? Something interesting I've came across is the Pentagon has, for a while know, undergone extensive upgrades and expansion, all in an effort to create a stronger, safer structure, but the reasoning (or the specifications of the upgrades) isn't really clear. Another odd fact is that the completion date of this said project will be exactly 21 December, 2012. Anything sound odd? I think that the Mayans got their math right (as usual) when they said that the world as we know it will be ending in 3 years' time, but, in contrary to what the soon to-be-released movie, "2012" depicts, I have a strong suspicion that, instead of the earth's physical destruction, the New World Order will be unleashed upon the world. Now let me make this clear, I truly and honestly hope that, in 3 years' time, all of you will be standing there, laughing at me and my far-fetched ideas, but, in the unlikely event that I might be right, I'd just like to share this with you know in an effort to voice my concerns. I'm obviously not making any of this up to attract attention or to get any kind of enjoyment out of it, I've just done more than enough research of my own, (aside from watching all of the Zeitgeist clips of course) and when you start putting all of the parts together, I really don't think that the One World Government, or even the possibility of the excistance of the Illuminati is that far fetched... Knowledge truly is power, and some of the knowledge I've obtained during my countless nights of sitting in front of my computer 'till 4 AM, only to sleep it off in Math the following day, has proven invaluable to me. If I could turn back time I wouldn't want to have anything to do with the stuff that I now know, but what's done is done, and I can honestly say it's changed my life in a way that I can't really describe. I find it truly amazing to see what human beings are capable of doing to their fellow man in order to obtain absolute power. But as I said, I'd like to hear your opinions, so please, enlighten me. ?

In other words, not necessarily doom and gloom as we're being led to believe.

Ray wrote Look, quite possibly nothing is gonna happen. But in 2010 we are having a world cup and me and the fanily have decided to be elsewhere. So we will do the same for 2012, ne?

Why leave the country at the time of (possibly) the biggest thing that's ever happened to it? I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to be a part of it....

TomCat

What come after Doom and Gloom.......Do and Glue..... ? ?

So let me get this straight, in 3 years its all gonna fall down, so I can now get a big ass loan that I plan on paying back over 10 years, but after 3 it all goes bust but I get to keep the GAS related purchases? ORSOME!

More seriously, the first time I watched Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist Addendum, I was like wow, this is really eye opening stuff. Then I delved into it deeper and realised that a lot of it is based on assumptions, opinions, and in some cases lies.

It did open my eyes to some new ideas though, so I am glad that I did watch it, I just think it would be a mistake to take it as gospel.

And yes, if the worlds decides to change / end / blow up, I don't see anything we can do about it. Might as well enjoy the ride!

You know what, come 2012 I'll be sitting on my porch drinking a cocktail. If the world ends, so be it. If it doesn't, eh... It does not change my life the slightest.

If the world does not end at that point....you can have another cocktail.....

I'm less concerned with the world ending suddenly and in huge catastrophe than I am with the world ending slowly and with huge catastrophe. Watching our world slowly die over my lifetime is a lot more scary than it all going away in a day. Waaaay more scary.

Maybe it's 2112. Have a listen to the Rush Album ?

read the introduction to the CD, it is very funny, where they speak of how they came from the future ?

I realize that I've pretty much created a negative image of myself through my last posts, and I want to apologize for doing so by saying that I never set out to cause any kind of controversy, I really just wanted to have a different opinion than my own, yet I can see through some of the replies I haven't really achieved my goal and therefore I'd like to say that I'm sorry for the outcome of this thread, and I wont be talking about anything like this again.

I'm really sorry, yet again...

I think you have; you got quite a few different opinions, didn't you? Is it that you don't like what people had to say, or that you don't feel they engaged with the topic properly?

[deleted]

I have lived through a few "end of the worlds already" and I'm only 24... I can't take things like this seriously...

So ja...

That's my opinion...

RobK

Negative image? I don't see it. Controversy - I didn't think there was any - just peoples thoughts on the matter (together with the obligatory idle chit-chat: ) ).

Nothing to be sorry for as far as I'm concerned.

TomCat

Hey Boet....no need to apologize........you raised a topic and you got different reactions......nuf said.....

The Magadon thing? Meh! The band photo is funnier. Lifeson's trousers... ?

Jaen-Pierre Dowling wrote I realize that I've pretty much created a negative image of myself through my last posts

I don't think you have and no need to apologise. You've got a discussion going is all. You asked opinions and got them. Disagreement doesn't create a negative image, how we choose to disagree does...

But is it knowledge? Not all information is actual knowledge. Some of it is speculation. Some of it is plain old porky pies.

How to test it to see if it's knowledge or not - there's the thing.

Oh... I'm not calling you a liar with the comment about "porky pies" above. I've seen nothing to suggest that you are out to tell whoppers.

TomCat

Talking about Pork Pies.......I've not had one of those for a long time........ :-\

A lot of folks with pretty relaxed ideas on how they will handle pending doom... Me? I will be dumfounded and speechless at first before going into a tearfull cry like a baby bout of nostalgic depression, probably ending with a trip to the mountains for a better view and a place to jump off should the need arise for it. So if its today, tomorow, 2012 or anytime in my lifetime, Iam also hoping for a quick finish rather than a CNN broadcast telling us all the date and time. Can you seriously imagine the anarchy if people knew, not speculated, but really knew the clock was to run out in a few months time?
