Vick So iv been reading on the net and came across the topic of brake angles... Aparently,on a tom bridge,if one insirts the strings like on a wrap around, and then take them over the stop bar to the sadels, one gets a more 'jangly' tone...hase sumone eva tryd this?the guy said page and bonamassa do it sumtimes...and can one have a to sharp brake angle...or is it just a question of taste...? Think im gona try it,just becoz, haha
AlanRatcliffe It apparently does make a difference, although I've never tried it. Another thing it means is the tailpiece studs can be screwed down hard into the body.
AlanRatcliffe MikeM wrote Pffft... Alan is lying to us... I know there's NOTHING he hasn't tried ? Uh-huh. Some might think I owned a G****n guitar if I 'fessed up... ?
Danny-B I string up my dot like that. IMO it does make a difference, it almost feels smoother to play. Also, it makes a nice platform for you to rest your hand on ?
