Thats the first time I see the JS2400. Very cool that they have finally brought this amazing guitar in 24 frets.
Interesting that they replaced the PAF JOE in the neck.
Is that a Dimarzio chopper or a fast track?
Hi Andrew
Thanx again for e-mailing me about the recording setup you’re using. I joined here on your recommendation as you can see. Love your songs. Love your recording quality!
That’s a Pro-Track in the neck. You’ll see that only the lower horn of the JS2400 has a deeper cutout. The reason is that Joe didn’t want to lose any tone on his guitar by going 24 frets. The mayor reason he’s always played 22 frets is because it’s widely recognized that generally a 22 fret instrument has a much sweeter tone and livelier harmonics in the neck position. The reason for this is that the neck pup is usually positioned over the 2-octave (24 fret position) sweet spot. That’s why they’ve gone with a slimmer humbucker –to get as close to this sweet spot as possible. Now I only wish they would have gone AANJ on the JS. The only thing I don’t like about my JEM… I’m sure Joe has his reasons.
The bridge pup is a Mo-Joe and the JS2400 is also fitted with high pass and coil split push pull pots.
Kind Regards,
?
