One of our guitarists at church had the fuse on his Hot Rod Deluxe blow on him last Sunday.
Turned out his amp fell over in his car on the way to church and cracked one of the O/P tubes...... ? ?
I had the amp open last evening and proceeded to clean things up. I replaced the stock 6L6 Sovtek tubes with two new JJ 6L6GC tubes and re-biased the amp.
All going well now. Tone is definitely richer and deeper with my dual HB. It will be interesting to hear his comments on the tone after he has tried it out with his Strat.
Lesson here..be careful how you pack your tube amp in the car when transporting your amp. Even a simple fall over could leave you ampless at the gig.
One little funny out of this was when he descrobed to me how after he had replaced the fuse and switched the amp on...He said that one of the bottle thinghy's in the back of the amp had what looked like a "Thunder Storm" going off in it..... ? ?

Hey Tom,
I just got you message... 2 days late, sorry I didn't respond, been stuck in recording sessions for 10-12 hours a day over the last week and back in tomorrow again, recording the score for a feature film, VERY demanding of time, but loving it. Glad you got the Fender up and running!
Cheers
Matt
