Does anyone know roughly what I would cost to ship a guitar from The UK to SA?
Shipping from the UK
R3000 and up, thats the lowest i have ever heard. Its just going the private route to avoid theft.

My dad brought in a guitar from the USA about 8 years ago, got a special rate with insurance of around $400...
The last time I checked the same thing now is about $700...
check with DHL or Fedex or Royal Mail etc, get the volumetrics and estimate a weight and ask for a quote... They will be willing to help you ?
I have shipped 2 guitars from the US in the past 2 years and they both cost about $125-150 with USPS
The 3-5 day fedex shipping was $350

not to be an ass but it wasn't exactly a cheap guitar, the insurance was massive... so that makes up a large chuck of it ? maybe thats why is was $400. delivered to the lonely Free State right to his front door.zw44 wrote: I have shipped 2 guitars from the US in the past 2 years and they both cost about $125-150 with USPS

Came from far far away Montana.
I got quoted $880 for a smallish 20w boutique amp a while back... So I need you guys to get quotes for me cause I cant get them that low!!! ?
I wanted to bring in a case (empty) from Elderly in the US. The case was $125.00, and getting it shipped here with Fedex (quote from Elderly) was $230. =R2840.
(BTW. I got the case from Toms (through Bothners) for R2500). I know the thread is about a guitar, but I would exhaust all avenues locally first, for peace of mind, and compare the costs involved. Let the local guys take the risk. It MAY just be a better option. And I may be wrong.
As a matter of interest. We brought in Memory for 2 Apple Mac Pros (which takes 32G each) from the UK, and it cost ONE-THIRD (all inclusive) of what the guys wanted locally.

Hey Andrew, with respect, I was giving an example of costs, my point was made in my second sentence. Apologies if this annoyed you.AndrewD wrote: I need to know about shipping from the UK guys - not the US.

International is all similar the ycount this as zone 3 or something so we coupld with Iraq and all that, its expensive. But maybe you can hatch a plan, if so you had better share it with me... the plan not the guitar. I look at ebay.co.uk all the time and cry.
