Ha! Yes. It reminds of a European idols episode where Simon Cowell berated a singer whose style was metal... saying that the guy is selling out and doing a disserve or something by doing a Nirvana cover (Lithium I think). The guy's response was brilliant - pointed out to Cowell that Idols is now (because of Idols) one of the few ways to get noticed and get ahead (at least temporarily), and that Cowell himself set the rule that songs should be covers...
