Fender Squier Bullet

Howzit guys

i always wanted to jam and i have decided now to purchase a fender squier bullet to start with.

is this any good?
is it a good entry level guitar?
what do they go for new?

your input/suggestions will be mostly appreciated.

I had one and sold it. Mostly because I got something else and prefered playing that. IMHO nothing wrong with it as an entry level guitar.

Hey Jay, read 13 reviews on this guitar at and then perhaps go play one in a store. MusicConnection has a combo deal with little Laney amp for about R2300.

What they go for? In SA, about R1450 new.

Aubs, thatz the shitty part, i can't play to safe my life but this is why i wanna learn. I think i can play the first 5 chords of Nirvana "come as you are"...hehe

Think about it this way: you already play better guitar than 99% of people on planet earth!

Only reccomend because Ihave a Hamer (not any of those) and am happy with it and at a 40% discount it's a good deal. No amp with it, though.

An entry Level Ibanez may be better for Metal, but my first guitar was a Bullet and I loved it!

Wish i had never sold it :-\

it will obviously take a few years to learn to jam properly, i can always upgrade then? will it be a bad purchase if i start with the bullet?

Not at all! The good thing is that you know you will get a decent guitar. Some of the other cheap brands tend to be hit-and-miss in terms of quality. The bullet is an entry level guitar, so it won't be fantastic, but at least you know what you are getting is playable and will last you at least a year or two, easy...

That is a good point, but I believe even aspiring metal guitarists should play on clean/light overdrive, at least for a few months, then go on to buckers and such when their technique has improved....

Go for it, dude. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with getting a Bullet as a first guitar. If youre not in a hurry, it might be worth your while to shop for 2nd hand stuff. Its much cheaper. And: You'll most probably be able to get a private seller to drop his price even lower than advertised.

And, BTW, youll be surprised at how quickly you're ready for a jam! (Or at least, for having some fun with someone else...) So, get one and start practising!

I helped get an entry level guitar for a friend a while ago, I liked those little Squier bullets.

I also got an entry level Cort for my son recently, R2000 for guitar + small Laney amp, and I really like that too. Very playable. Entry level instruments are actually pretty decent lately, you won't go wrong with the Squier.

(Dare I mention that now when I'm lounging in front of the TV, I jam my Universe or Loomis through that little Laney, it sounds cool! ? )
