Ok the festive season is almost upon us judging by the cheesy music in malls and the ubiquitous little christmas hats hanging on everything including online shop logos!
Since a lot of you will be away, I propose our next shindig around the end of January.
What think you?
nick
I'll be there, but this time I think we throw out about 10 easily jammable songs and let everyone go off and get the bits together (including lyrics) and then we see what we can put together on the day. While the blues jams are awesome theres just far to many different music tastes and we usually settle on common ground with stuff like Hendrix, and blues ?
Simple songs like Knocking on Heavens Door etc, what you think?
FatBoy
I'm all for that idea nick, not all of us are guitar gods that can just play anything you can pull out of a hat, some of us need to practise!

Hi guys
First of all Happy New Year to you all, 2010 is gonna be an awesome year! 6 March 2010 seems the best date for us to host at our place. Inflames is talking about setting up a meet on 30 Jan at Corner Bar, Durbanville, I am not sure if I will be there may be going away to celebrate my birthday... There is too much happening in Feb all around so best date we can come up with is 6 March
6 March 2010 - Graeme and I need to know who is in to attend - it will be the usual - bring your guitar, your partner or a friend if you wish, drinks, wors (wer doing boerewors rolls this time it's far easier). I intend having a surprise - a special guest or two at this event and need to advise them well in advance, should be good exposure for the forum then. Please let me know who of you are in for a good time again ? Tx all and take care ?

Unfortunately the end of Jan is difficult for me as i will be in west africa.
I would love to come by on 06/03 though.
Cheers

Great! I and the Twin or Vox will be there this time...
How do you feel about adding in a little bit of a "Workshop" element to the day? Maybe we could do a setup workshop for an hour or so in the afternoon? Or do something like spend time comparing different types of pickups (humbucker v single-coils v P90s) through the same amp and give everyone a chance to try.

Alan, if you guys plan on doing what you suggested (which is an excellent suggestion), could someone please setup a podcast sorta thing so that i can still watch whilst sitting in Dakar. Thanks.
Heath
As a recent addition to the cape , i will definetly be there ......
inflames
I will be there like a bear!
Will bring the JCM with as well!
Great idea Alan, that would be super!

I'm talking about the official "Graemestock" in March, so you have no excuse. ?
BTW - I propose that we try and set up things so that Graeme and Ursh can be compensated for their time, trouble and the outlay they put into these things. What about a paid bar and/or hot dogs for sale or something similar? Ideas?
Renesongs
Trixi and I will be there of course 6/3/10 If anybody is interested I could do a little demo on multifx pedals ie Guitar Rig Kontroller 3 vs Boss Gt-10 and which is good for what etc. 8)
inflames
Rene, I would love to see a demo on the GT-10 since I'm in the market for one.
ezietsman
This is cool. Can I join in?
inflames
Sure you can join!

I hate all you Capetonians with an envious passion that cannot be expressed without age restrictions. But in a nice way ? Would seriously love to go to one of these getogethers one day ☹
AlanRatcliffe
We wouldn't have it any other way.
(Where's a "long bacon" smiley when you need it?)
Riaan
Oh boy...I've got a congress at UCT that day and on Sunday, but I'll sneak off and join you guys by late afternoon or early evening. Can we crash there for the night? Might need to....

Lekker response so far!
@Alan: I like the workshop idea. Setup and pickups would be great for starters.
@inflames: I'd better get a Tube Tamer ready for your Marshall!
@Nick: Ok, I've learnt "knockin". What's no 2?
@Riaan: We will make a plan for you to crash lekker boet ?

It's a bit far in the future for me to say for sure I'll be there tho' I would love to, is this only for guitars or can I bring my bass instead ?
+1 Rene and your demo
+1 Alan's thoughts on compensation.
