Good Morning All
Please help me with some info on the Les Paul copies made by Ibanez in the 70's. The one I'm interested in looks like a custom LP sans the diamond logo on the headstock. I know it's got a bolt on neck which is about the only non-les paul feature with a quick glance. I checked the catalogues on the Ibanez websites, but they don't tell you anything about the wood the body is made of etc. The headstock is the "open book" LP one with the "old" Ibanez logo.
thanks.
PS: I played one of the Love Rock Tokai's this weekend.....OMG, not bad at all....just very heavy, which isn't really a problem for me and at 15K, definitely worth the ZAR.

I know someone who has an Ibanez Les Paul. Maybe I'll get him to join and share...

The 2350 was a cheap copy of a Les Paul which looked a lot more authentic than it was. They are collectable to some, but not one of the better LP copies, IMO. Mahogany body and neck, sycamore top and rosewood fingerboard.
The bolt-on version was an odd build: a "pancake" body with a bent top and odd routing that leaves all kinds of cavities under the top. Some had the desirable "Super 70's" pickups, but many of the covered pickups were actually single coils - usually very microphonic.

Thanks Alan. I played one on the weekend and really need it in my life...Sure, the hardware needs to changed, but the overall feel and sound... ?....It was the LP and then there was a SG aswell but the LP is really sexy..
Thanks again for the info
