You can attach things - up to four attachments of up to 128KB each. We'll just have to ask Norio to add support for .gp3 file extensions to the allowable attachments.
Anyway, to do it, click on the + sign next to "Additional Options" under the text window when you post and you will see the attachment box.

Jip i saw the attachment box but the Guitar pro format was the problem. But what is the most used guitar pro? Most people I know are using version 5 and 4.But 5 has the convert to Gp4 format option?
AlanRatcliffe
Probably gp4. If you look for files, gp3 is the most commonly found format and everything from v3 onwards can read them. However I think most users are using 4 or 5 now. While gp5 can open v4 or v5 files, I don't think 4 can open v5 files, so it would have to be v4.

On a somewhat related note, I've recently discovered tuxguitar. It's a GuitarPro work alike from the Linux world (also runs just fine under Windows). It will quite happily read GuitarPro files (gp3, gp4 and gp5) as well as Powertab (ptb). It's opensource so if you don't like somthing you can change it.
Really cool icons as well - Tux the penguin playing guitar. Check the 'burst LP.
Rob.

Hey Rob,
Is it worth having if you already have guitar pro?
NorioDS
How does tuxguitar sound? Nice thing about GuitarPro is it sounds cool. Nothing more annoying for me than listening to crap midi-like sounds on my laptop ?
GP4 files are now supported but please keep it legal!
Regarding the size limitations, they will pretty much stay the same until I can offer a better file-storage goodie for everyone (using Amazon S3).
Enjoy!

Im confused. Tutorial please?
NorioDS
Ehhh, if you have a file that end in GP4 (eg: my new killer riff.gp4), you can now upload it when you post something here ?
Gray
Sorry I was't very clear I was talking about the legality of it all. ?
NorioDS
Hehe, ok now I understand ?
Well, posting tab / guitar pro file for Satch's "Surfing with the Alien" might not be legal. It's a gray area these days so I'd rather steer clear from any problems.
Please make sure you own the copyright to whatever you post on this site. I know it's not always possible but I'm just trying to cover my butt here. If it wasn't for all these legal pimples, we'd already have a tab section, I'm sure!

Would it be an issue if we put the URL link to the location of the file if it's found on another site in the post?
NorioDS
I'm totally Ok with that ?
Wessel
thanx ,it is cool that members can suggest something and it becomes reality!
