Im a total noob when it comes to amps and specs, is that a good buy?

I don't think this is a bad buy at all. I would have gone for the Vypyr 120, but it is way more expensive.
R4k for the 60w is a good price I think!

This kind of Jack-of-all-trades thing worries me, and the reviews on Harmony Central are less than positive on the reliability of this amp and all its effects. I think it would be important for you to test it out, and also check out prices of similarly powered tube amps in stores, to see how you like them.

Having said that, as inflames has pointed out, getting a 60 watt tube amp for that price is not bad (on a hunch), if you decide you like how it sounds.

I agree, go and test the amp first.
I have never played on the 60w. The 120w got some insane reviews!

When the amp was first released I was amped to get the 120w.
This was before buying the 6505+

1 other quest, Tube or Transistor, for metal, i really dno every one is like tubes are cleaner at higher volumes but surely with todays tochnology transistor amps are fine, scuse the noob questions ? thanks for ur patients

There are 2 schools when it comes to Metal and amps.
The new school that believe transistor amps is better for metal because of the gain.
the old school that believe in tubes.

Now go and do some research on your favorite metal bands and you will see that they all use tubes ?

I had a monster Hi-Gain solid state amp that I used for metal, but could never get the right tone.
So what did I do, slap more and more FX Pedals in front of the amp. Still not what I was looking for.

Tube amp plus a tube screamer or Maxon will be all you need for metal (my opinion).

If you have not played on a tube amp yet, go and try it out! It will blow your mind!

1 other question b4 i fone for that cube 30 x, it will work fine with my digitech RP90 multi effects pedal right?

The Cube 30X will work fine with your pedal.

I also find that the cube's built in effects are really nice aswell (they have COSM modelling).

Been doing some reviews on the roland cube 80x and most metalheads seem to say its not a great metal amp, but rock jazz blues are rating it a 10 for sound so yeah gna have to look into it more dont wanna make a wrong decision
