Greenwitch
My name is Quinton. I'm from, well a few places. currently living in Randburg, born in East London, grew up in Boksburg/Kempton Park. I'm a technician in the electronic engineering field(no i cant fix ur tv or microwave maybe ur hifi, hehehe) and im still a student doing my final year Btech in electrical engineering at TUT.
My gear im playing with now is a ibanez sas32fm (which i truly adore) through a crate 60w amp (which i hate). My effcts include a boss metal zone, digitech distortion, and toneworks multieffects. My first guitar was a cort strat shape with three single coil pickups(sunburst)which was in a real bad state when i got it and still is,but saving up to repair it properly, still trying to find out what model, any help would be appreciated.
My greatest influence will always be John Petrucci(Hail the unknown master). influences are mainly in the progressive metal and metalcore. Other influences include synyster gates, luke hoskins, jimi hendrix, matt heafy.(I know, most of them young artists)
Ive been playing for nearly five years, just messing about and the last two months decided to get my ass into gear and learn some discipline with my instrument.
Id love to hear from you guys and learn and one day maybe teach with fellow S.A. guitarists.

Believe it or not, you won't be the first three-headed forum member from Randburg. Something about power line proximity and pollution...
Anyhoo, welcome, guy. Enjoy.

Hi, welcome. Yep the old disciplined approach turns out to be the only way in the end, I also spent years messing around before acknowledging that hard truth. Petrucci and Heafy rock. Synyster Gates as a guitarist is so-so to me but as a composer he's top notch, I love A7X's music - I actually saw them live about a year ago, a great experience.
I've never run across Luke Hoskins' work, I'm going to check it out.
