Overall - great!
Drum recording is good, toms & kick especially. Snare sound works for the quieter stuff like the sidestick in the intro in Race Against Time, but isn't great for the heavier feel of Speed Freak - I'd try tune it higher and mellow the mic'ed sound a little with EQ. Hats are a bit "cheap" sounding - trashy with some harsh upper freqs (which could be any number of things - room, hats themselves or the mic).
Guitar tones are nice and fit together well. Rhythm is a bit too loud in Race Against Time - especially if you are going to be adding a lead instrument or voice in the mix too (you might find the same in Speed Freak when you add the lead/vox, but not as bad).
Thanks everyone for your comments. I really appreciate you taking the time.
Shadow, the only distortion you're hearing from the guitars is the pedal. The amp was set clean.
Alan, I hear your comments. If you knew where these tracks are to be used then I think you'll understand the mix. Nothing more is to be added to the tracks they are complete and are being used as music beds for a tv production. I was aksed to "slam" the final tracks with really heavy compression and brickwall the output. Its the sound that they are going for. Do I agree with them? Not necessarily. I don't like over compressed tracks but hey, thats what they wanted.
But thanks for your comments.
Cheers,
Peter
