What type of paints did you use?

That'll definitely stand out on stage. Do you wear the costum when you play ?

I used acrylic paint(about 4 layers), and then sprayed a clear gloss finish.
It is a fun guitar, and nice to look at, but it was only an experiment to see if it was possible.
Zakk Wylde would really like this guitar, the fact that he is american and heavy metal at the same time.

Do you think it is possible that someone can sue you if painted their product on you custom guitar?

Yep very possible but it's unlikely Marvel would hunt you down and kill you unless you start selling them off...

I don't think it's a problem. Even if you were in a world famous band (lets hope!), they are more likely to treat it as unpaid advertising rather than trademark infringement. If (when! ;D) Gibson want to do a signature model, they will have to licence the image, but otherwise it'll be allright.

If it were Disney... very different story. The evils of large draconian corporate entities should never be underestimated.

Yup dealt with Disney alot in my previous job they're absolutely fanatical about there intellectual property. I'm really hoping that when they've made High School Musical XV and rack up like six gajillion sales they take some time to get Donald Duck some damn pants...

I have been searching for pics of your guitar on the Forum. Looks awesome. I played on the guitar before its facelift, wonder if it shreds faster now ?
