Broken Metal Muff?

Recently bought a used EHX Metal Muff off gumtree.
Looked and sounded perfect but it's started to die on me I think.

On my amps clean channel the sound is hardly there until I turn it past 6 and normally 2 is too loud.
When the pedal is engaged the sound is almost tinny and lifeless.
Any idea what it could be or if I could get it fixed before my gig tomorrow night?

Checked with a FRESH battery? I know it's silly but maybe

Can't think that that could be from a cold joint or something though.. But I do not know much about pedals.

Checked with fresh battery and correct power supply. Neither solved the problem.

Couldn't repair it by the time of the gig so ended up borrowing my friends Little Big Muff.

Was my first gig and it went well. ? Felt like my legs would cave in but I finished the set without too many hiccups.

I'm gonna frame my first payment 8)

Sorry I couldn't be of help at such short notice, as I shared on the phone I was wiring up another clients pedal board. I might be able to take a look at it on Tuesday/Wednesday for you. Let me know if you still need help.
