So, I have a classical, or should i say nylon string guitar.. Its a semi-acoustic Walden.. Awhile ago I was very into classical guitar, doing my exams on it and what not, but didn't know much about guitars, so I got this, because it sounded nice, played nice and had a pick up..
Now, i look back and wish i had spend the money from the pick up on a better guitar.. haha..
My question is this though.. My guitar has a soft, kinda gentle tone to it.. Its nice for classical stuff.. However, i LOVE this sound..
What makes a guitar a flamenco guitar as opposed to a normal nylon string? That guitar in the video has a very harsh tone, a lot of high end and very crisp and clear... It's amazing.. Is my guitar just a cheapy? or is this guitar build differently to mine?

There are differences in construction between flamenco and classical. The flamenco guitar is slightly lighter and has a thinner body, which raises the pitch. It also has shorter fan braces, which reduces sustain and increases attack.
There are two types of flamenco guitar: the traditional "Flamenca Blanca" (white), made with a cypress or sycamore body; and the "Flamenca Negra" (black), which has a rosewood body. Both (ideally) have spruce tops and cypress necks.

Hmm.. Interesting.. Are flamenco guitars available in SA? I mean, i've never seen one at a music shop, or have i?
Are there "stock" flamenco guitars or only really custom builds?
