Searched long and hard to find more info about it but found nothing.
1930s you say?
It has a cone, also has an input jack.
it sounds great both acoustic and plugged in. It has flat wound 12s on at the moment.
I'll see what Gruhn says. cheers for that.
To be anal, it's almost certainly an output jack and that's almost certainly not factory fitted.
You're going to be asked WHICH kind of cone it has - biscuit or spider.
If you were looking at the guitar from the outside with nothing between you and the top, the biscuit cone would be conVEX and the bridge would be connected to the base of the cone - usually via a wooden "biscuit".
The spider cone is inverted, so from our viewpoint it would look conCAVE and there would be a multi-spoked spider mechanism between the bridge and the cone.
If it has the biscuit cone it's a resonator guitar but not a Dobro. If it has the spider cone it's a Dobro.
Another source of valuation would be Hugh Cummings at www.hughsfineguitars.co.za. No matter who you ask to do the valuation they will want details - so does it have a serial number? And what kind of cone is it?
Both guys (and any other dealer) are going to give you a valuation from their POV as potential buyers and resellers.
