I don't wish to hijack this thread, but tell us more Alan! This sounds like the visual equivalent of Mr. Delivery, which revolutionized our home cooking!
They work via the post office and drop boxes or post for returns. You sign up for a certain number of DVDs at a time, choose a whole list online and they send the to you as they get them (delivery takes two days to Napier). They arrive in a resealable envelope and when you've watched it, you reseal it and drop it in a post box or drop box. Then go to the site and mark it as returned and they send the next one (although they say they send the next when they get one back from you. You can have as many DVDs as you can watch in a month, you're just limited by how many you have at a time. In major centres they have drop boxes but anywhere else and you use the PO.
The nice thing is they have a lot of series' and movies we don't see in the video shops here in Napier (especially the Arthouse stuff, older movies and British stuff), You can watch at your leisure (so if you get a series disk you don't have to watch all the episodes in one day) and keep something as long as you want. The downside is that you can't choose what they send you next, you can only specify high medium and low priority - beyond that it depends on what they have in stock when they need to send you another. It also lets you take chances on stuff you're not sure about, because it doesn't cost you any extra to do so.
We signed up for three DVDs at a time - theoretically so we'd have one at home, one on the way back to them, and one on it's way to us at any given time.
Anyway, see
