My new (old) ibanez bass

So i been searching for a decent sounding bass for my recordings, i evetually found a 2nd hand ibanez blazer that had the sound i was looking, the body is pretty much bad looking due to one of the previous owners spraying it incorrectly and now the paint has cracks all over, so later on i will look into getting a good spray job done.

One of the previous owners also installed a pickup in the bridge position, still need to identify it dough, the wires looks like it can be a seymour duncan, but will make shure when i take out the pickup to have a look.
Anyway the previous disconnected it because it gave phase problem with the other pickups, but i'll have that sorted out.

other than that it is a pretty decent bass, made in august 1982 in japan, out of ash wood.

any suggestions to what colour i can spray it?

lol, thats a ugly colour ?

I might have to replace the scratchplate as well, there is some good looking ones at music mate i'll go check out later this week.

but i think the greenburst gives it a modern look, maby even a blue aqua sunburst, but will have to wait and see what the wood grain looks like.

Depends on what you find under the finish.

If it's real nice wood, this kind of thing is first prize, IMO:

If it's good but not perfect, a darker trans finish with a dark grain filler and a bursted edge:

Or if it's not good at all, you can still make the most of the ash by doing a solid open grain finish (no grain filler):

thanks, those look really good.

Will post some pics if the finish(if you can cal it that) is off(hopefully in the next few weeks), and decide from there.
