Wouldn't 5 notes be difficult to work with in conjunction with most common time signatures? ???

Playing 5 notes all depends on what time signature you're playing on. 5/4, 5/7 etc etc...u get the drift. However, asking each member on the forum to submit 5 notes each is asking too little, IMO. Give everyone a time signature and one bar to chip in with their ideas, but someone's got to start it so that it snowballs from there (with little to no repetition of ideas). Cheers.

What im trying to get to is I think we should use common time instead of complex, asymmetric or irregular.

Yup, bar per person is probably way better ? 4/4 time is good for me coz I don't really manage in other time signatures ?

Easy enough to create a backing track using GP5. Just program in the drums and bass ?

Who's volunteering for those honours?

Cool. Unfortunately, i'm a dinosaur and don't have GP5. And its a good idea to do it in 4/4, however, depending on the tempo 4 beats could be too little (unless u reduce the tempo to about 30 beats per minute). I suggest making it 3 bars in 4/4 time at 120 bpm. That's approx. 6 seconds per contributor. heck, there's a lot a person can come up with in 6 seconds!! ?

Unfortunately I think alot of people dont have GP 5 or the updated GP5 I say we ue GP 3 or 4 its backwards compatable so GP 5 people wont have a problem either. ?

3 bars would also be better or you could make it a maximum of 3 and minimum of 1 that way you can choose how much to contribute.
