well just like to thank all you guys that helped with comments on mic's in this process... but after this last show in a theatre i have now concluded my tests on mic'ing up a nylon string. and yay in the favour of adopting it as my method of choice.......
oddly enough i have settled on a cheaper condenser for the guitars than i initially started with... i'm not technical when it comes to mic's just know what sounds right to me...... and that too.... it's to please my ear not anyone else's
yeah so i have experimented with many mic's and placement positions......monitor placement even became essential....... and also in various venues from super quiet garden gigs to outdoor events to loud groove bar to live band venue ........ and finally this wed i did a theatre and it was great......
so thats it...... results are conclusive that it is possible and suits my style well....... not saying it's for everyone... but i do feel the tone outweighs the negatives......
i will stil experiment with condensers,,,,,,,,, in future.... seeking the "perfect shampoo" as michael franks said but me i'm "mic'd and happy about it.."
peace and light
Keira
