Another Acoustic

Hey guys

I have a stunning Washburn F52SWCE and would like some input on how it sounds. Could not think of anything non cliche' so came up with this (First takes as I am in a hurry so a few stumbles..)

Well I think what we're hearing is the B-band electronics rather than the guitar itself. Sounds a bit percussive and too bright, which is fairly typical of under the saddle pickups. You might try some EQ on that, especially taking some mid range out and maybe cutting the tops a little.

My acoustics all have Baggs Active Elements fitted with the on-board Baggs pre-amp. That's quite a good sounding combo as these things go, but I find it sounds more natural and less percussive if I run it through an external Baggs pre-amp. That external pre-amp actually gives me zero gain in the end (the on-board pre-amps have plenty of grunt already), but the controls on it allow me to apply some eq and that makes a big difference.

Oh, I see. Thanks I will try that. Was just complaining to drew that it was sounding Piezo-ey. Although the guitar is quite bright - it's a 000 size or something, not too sure.

Ok awesome, that's a bit hectic for me cause I don't usually amplify or record with this guitar ?

I thought this guitar had a mic inside and an undersaddle pickup, will have to check the little leaflet that came with, never read it that well. ?

Can you record it with a mic instead?

Difficult to make a choice with a piezo.

Often when they have the mic and the pickup there's a control allowing you to mix the two - or have only one. So, yes, RTFM ?

That's funny, all three of my SM57s have gone missing all of a sudden.. Must have misplaced them ?

I first bought one and could later get two new but not from a shop, for 150 Euro for both. Then, what do you do? :?
Don't worry I will sell one to the church for cheap when we're done fixing up the PA. I will need two for my stereo rig ?
