I know he complains a lot about the high e string buzzing the whole time.
Well more information is needed. Just by us on the forum but also, and more importantly, by the technician. Does that string buzz in ANY position, at a specific fret, at a certain range of frets? When he's playing with a capo? Without a capo? I don't need to know the answers, but that kind of information helps the guitar tech locate the problem.
And what guitar has he got? How much does he want to spend?
But besides that, i think the general issue is to make sure he goes to a quality tech. Once there he can explain his requirements. He is not overly fussy, i just think he may have gone to a bum shop. Not to sure where he went.
I just want to make sure the person is competent. If he still isnt happy, then the problem will obviously be with him not explaining himself ?
Anyone you can recommend?
Don't know about Pretoria, but in Jo'burg he can try Andy McGibbon's Guitar World, or he can go to Music Connection (just up the road from Andy's) and ask for Mando Silva.
