Dane-Taylor
Just had an old 1972 Laney Klipp modded by Karel Mars.
We chatted about what tone and colour I was looking for, which was more of a cleaner American tone but still with plenty power.
We replaced the EL34 tubes to 6L6s, had orange caps put on, and a whole other bunch of other stuff, ask Karel for details.haha...
I run it into a 2X12 Vintage 30s Cab and play mostly an old Strat and sometimes a Humbucker JazzBox.
First off, it sounded AMAZING! totally blown away.
Real clean, even when pushed hard, heaps of clarity, and overall sound is real Fat!
Tons of controlled bottom end, mid range, and treble pots real responsive, powerful and dynamic, which is good for experimenting with different tones and combinations.
So yeah I'm real happy with it,
I think Karel's work is world class and its good to know there's someone who's so clued up with this sort of stuff right here in the Cape Town area.

Hey Dane,
Congrats! I'm sorry I couldn't help you, but as I shared if there is ANYONE I'm going to send my amps to (outside of me doing it myself), Karel is your guy. Great to hear you are back up and running again, with what sound like a NEW amp!
Cheers
Matt
