Pedalboard Joeybones style

JoeyBones

So our church conference starts tomorrow and my board was in pieces. I still haven't gotten around to building my True Bypass Looper as well, but maybe thats a good thing. Where would I put it ??

Here's the board I managed to slap together this afternoon :

Signal chain is :

Guitar => Pitch Black Tuner ->PB1 Booster->Wah Probe->Joyride->TS-808->Mojo Drive->ISP Decimator->DM-2->Nova Delay->Carbon Copy->Cusack Tap-A-Whirl->ChoralFlange->Visual Volume => Amp

I heard a demo proguitarshop.com did and I had to have one. You should checkout their demo of the POG II. Don't know where I'd put it but I'd love to get one.

Nice board man. What do you think of the Nova delay... My Boss DD3 is broken and I need to replace it.

JoeyBones

The nova is an awesome delay.Built like a tank. I've owned a DD-20 and the line 6 DL4 and I can safely say the nova is way better than both of them.

I've got a review for the Nova delay going into the next Muse mag. Overall very impressive - solid, sounds good, powerful and barring a few small niggles, fairly simple to operate (for a complex pedal). However, given a toss up between the Nova and the Lexicon, I think the Lexicon has an edge feature-wise with the discrete dual-engines - at a price.

JoeyBones

I think price is the operative word for most guitars ?)

I was lucky to get a really good deal on my nova.

CDee

Man, I was looking into them now and they are expensive... Who would be the SA Supplier? or did you buy it abroad?

JoeyBones

I bought it secondhand of a guy in the US. Prices here are insane.

All the Nova series pedals are all just over R4K. Distributor is Prosound.

Expensive, yes, but I was impressed enough by the Nova Drive to order one... Also comes with it's own power supply. R4K for a distortion/overdrive pedal. ?

@ Alan - This one? http://more.take2.co.za/moreusa-tc-electronic-ndr-1-nova-drive-all-analog-digitally-controlled-b00263jcsk.html

The Nova delay is about $249 on the online shops + $40 shipping. Works out to roughly R2700 including VAT. Should be less than R3k to import it self. Still too much ???

That's the one.

You must be confusing me with someone who buys at retail prices. ?

Anyway, I'd rather have local backup and support, not worry about voltages and know that there is no chance of it going missing on the way. So unless I can pick something ridiculously cheap overseas or can't get something locally, it's actually worth my while to support the local guys.

I guess I shouldn't mention hw much I got mine for. The fear of being lynched is evident :0)

Played my hollowbody into this board today at conference and it sounded really good. Needs some tweaking, but over all a good board for now.

I've noticed a fair amount of tone sucking with this setup. Started working on my True Bypass strip. Got the mockup done. Getting a friend to make the enclosures for me. Will post pics as and when I make progress.
