elixir/ernie ball long life strings

hey all

just finding out if anyone on the forum has strung up with elixir long life strings, and if they do in fact keep longer than regular packs. ernie ball also do a coated long life string and i'm keen to know if there's also do in fact work.

They do last much longer - especially on guitars you don't use much. I like the feel of the Elixir Nanoweb coated, but the coating on the Ernie Ball Titaniums feels very rough.

They both have one major drawback for electric though - they are not electrically conductive, which means you don't get earthed from the strings and noise levels are likely to be higher (especially with a Strat or a Tele that rely on the earthing to cut noise a lot).

So I use Elixirs on acoustic, but have stuck with my old favourites (Ernie Ball) for electric.

They certainly last longer. I use Elixir Nanoweb and they last very well. There is a little drop off in tone over time, but nowhere near what you'd get with regular strings.

The Elixirs are great IMO, not only do they last long, but they sound and feel very nice too.
