My plea is to the teachers in this country. [b]Educate our own!![/b] Why leave it to the worldly forums outside of this sunny country to teach our musicians?

If this forum could have stickies of lessons, and accurate ones at that, we would be able to add an extra value to this site. Have an FAQ section of theory... A Songwriting/composition workshop series that really helps. I did something similar on another forum which, to me, had great results (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1189269). People learn through interaction so there's no need to keep worrying about your lessons dwindling due to increased information here. If you are a good teacher... and an added value will be that you are a great musician... then you might possibly even gain more students. I will gladly bring the "evolved avo" thread here if there will be an interest in it.

If we can all contribute "together", then we can have something awesome for visitors as well as students to participate in. What say you?

I agreee with you 100% that people learn more through interaction. If you have a tried and tested system of sharing musical ideas I will be more than happy to participate.

The way it can work is when we get our students involved as well as their friends and whomever plays guitar. As well as punting to strangers in music shops or wherever...

The tried and tested way is by posting the audio for all to download and listen to... how many people are registered here? How many would interact with it without being shy and not wanting their recordings or experiments heard? It all starts with one.

Take some Time to explore the Lessons Topic on the home page of this forum. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. If not well it time to put your guitar on ebay and take up bagpipes ?

As a player who learned most of his theory from books, tabs and the backs of Coco Pops boxes..., I would love to be able to hear what I read. I still believe that music comes from the heart and not the head, but a better understanding of the head part might make the heart part easier to express.

hey guys and girls .......... as rene pointed out we already sharing knowledge on this site ......... and the lessons section can have clips posted to it........ so yeah i think we doing it already............. so no need for any special sections...

As I understand it, members are already colaborating online through this forum - adding to each others tracks.
I don't know how this is any different.
Those who want to participate will.
There's also the weekly competition where players of all levels can submit their works and get a crit and encouragement from their peers.
As far as I'm concerned all the tools are all here already on this forum.

This forum is only a baby compared to other big forums(almost 2 years old 8)), when i first signed up, there where no lessons, now there is tons.
So with time more valuable info will be added.

we do have regular jams session where poeple of different genre's just out of random jam with each other and its fun.

Why not start a complete website with free music theory lessons then?

......i noticed someone mentioning in a other thread that music lessons is expensive and some didn't have access to the internet.........Well what about the good old days of going to a library, where it is free to learn.

One of my goals for the site has long been to set up a proper articles section where members can apply for and get an account (like a blog) on the site to post reviews, lessons, performance tips, etc. It would be nice to get everything gathered together in one place.

I'm going to be redoing my site soon and would like to get it set up so articles I post there are automatically syndicated and added here. Obviously if I can pull that off then it will also be possible to syndicate from other sites driven by similar software (Wordpress).

Audio lessons, or rather lessons containing audio, will be great for the shy, lazy, isolated or financially handicapped players like yours truly. I agree this site is great as is and I have no idea how to properly implement it, but for beginner/intermediate players it will make things a helluva lot easier if we can hear examples to compliment the wonderful theoretic lessons. Kind of like with the Swing clips posted as guides for last weeks competition. That said, please dont think me or anybody else is ungrateful, I promise you were not! Please keep the advise and lessons coming. In the end it makes us all better players. So thanks for that hey...
