Gearhead ? Yeah great idea Wizard. It's just that that's from Canada and 40% more expensive than StewMac :?
Manfred-Klose Here's an idea: http://www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?c=2&p=58897&cat=2,51555 i would never have thought that snails didn't like copper ??? .....mmh, maby i should make a trip to stodels, and see if they have any, but i doubt they will.
selbydoodl Definately has to be copper. I got some from a local craft shop, and cut it to fit, then used contact glue to se it in. Only cost me a few rands, but want a difference especially when playing near to fluorescent lights. Make sure you get a thin sheet though otherwise it is difficult to cut and takes up too much room.
Manfred-Klose Shelbydoodle, what the name of the craft shop? I have been to a few and they didn't stock any copper foil.
AlanRatcliffe The craft shops often sell copper sheets for the modellers - I've used it before for the bottom of pickup cavities (In fact I think I've got half a sheet of 1mm in my scratchplate material stash). That might be what Shelby is talking about. They usually have a range of thicknesses, some quite thin. Difficult to screen every nook and cranny of a cavity with the stuff, but if you do the bottom and your pickguard is shielded too, that's probably 80% shielded. The only possible problems are that you don't have a soldering iron big enough (no problem - drill a small hole and use a screw and solder tag), and that the cavity doesn't have enough depth to lose a half mm or so to copper sheet.
