OK you 60s guitar experts...

Hear are two shots from 1967 of a very young, I think about to turn Pro Fairport Convention... The smiling youngster is a teenage Richard Thompson. Next to him sits Fairport kingpin and then founder of Steeleye Span Ashley "Tyger" Hutchings. To the right is drummer Martin Lamble who would be dead by the end of 1969 at just 20. He died in the after-gig crash that also put Thompson and Hutchings in hospital with multiple fractures, and which was fatal for Thompson's girlfriend. But I am wondering if anybody's got any ideas as to what RT is playing. I'm thinking Hofner, but it doesn't quite seem like any other Hofners from that era that I can find pictures of. What say you wise folks?

CDee wrote I found some strange and wonderful looking guitars from Eko in Italy when researching my Eko C-33. They also have very similar look to those Hofners.

My first electric was an Fender Jaguar copy by Eko.. Had like a million pickup switches on it, had a cracked neck, not quite sure what happened to it.. was probaby quite old.

Bob you are bringing back nightmares. Here is the first electric guitar I learned to operate. Check the tone controls you will know what I mean when I say 'operate' http://www.elderly.com/items/30U-10600.htm

I'm starting to see where Brian May got all his ideas from.

But come on, Rene, time to 'fess up. You never quite got the same sound out of your strat, did you?

PS: Anybody ever tell you to "just walk away"?
