That was quite interesting. OK... my score was 42, which is NOT interesting. But then what do us acoustic guitarists know about Rock 'n Roll?
What I found interesting was that this guy is clearly a very good player yet made a mess of some those. Not in fumbling notes but in completely missing the feel, the groove of the original. EG Sultans of Swing. I also couldn't tell if he was playing "All Right Now" or Steve Miller's "Rocking me Baby". The riffs are very similar, and the way he played it, sort of efficiently without any real feeling or nuance, it could have been either.
So that was interesting - sometimes you need more than the right notes.
+ 1000 to you there Bob....
yeah i think that quote of yours should go down in the annuls of guitar history ....and should be the dominant thought on every music students mind........ and tutors too...........
" you need more than just the right notes"
strangly enough we were discussing it amongst some muso's and myself at my gig last night....... the very same thing .....
so yeah this comment is not exclusive to this guy but something everyone should bear in mind...........
well said Bob.......... karma'd you for this
