I have a Laney 50W amp which, when used in the 'Crunch' setting works great, but when in clean mode, the volume knob is very erratic - a slight bump seems to knock the volume all the way up, leaving me temporarily deaf. Does this sound like a common problem and can I fix it myself, even though I am not that technically minded?

sounds like the volume pot or the gain pot is very dirty or even damaged , try squirting them with electrical spray if that fails , change them out or send them to a tech to be changed . but its not normally a big problem

andys would just send it away ..... theres a guy in vanderbijl , goes by the name dutch , who is a expert at all things electronic , i know a bit far , but well worth it
