Hey guys! Wow, this is a tricky one? ???

I got a pretty good idea of what swing sounds like now, fast and slow but admittingly haven't quite got the technical idea of what actually defines swing nailed just yet. The biggest two things in swings obviously rhythm and in most cases a sax or something..lol. I found a collection of swing songs on a CD from the darkest corners of storage in the house I'm listening through at night. Getting the idea down, but now to figure out how to re-create it. This is gonna be disaster, but I WANT to find the time to enter again.

Sorry folks..swing's just not in my grasp just yet. I spent 6 hours today trying to get something that sounds like swing but I obviously need a little more practise. The hands are tired now, maybe next time. ?

You should get a honorary prize for spending 6 hours trying.

I'm giving my recording program another try. After giving me a scare by putting strange echoes on everything (it worked again after I switched it on and off) it's surprisingly doing what I want it to do. Also using less prestick on my pic-up is helping me get more volume on my guitar. Modern tecnology is no match against my clumsiness.

So smooth goings for now. I've got the Cakewalk forum open for emergencies. I'm almost 100% certain that some other problem will come up. I mean, it would just be weird if it didn't.

Just finished mine and sent it off to Rene.
Quite a challenge this one - a whole new discovery. I've listened a lot to big-band swing in the past but never actually sat down and played the stuff on guitar.

AS with rudolf , just couldn't get into the swing mood ..... most of my recordings were all bluesy sorta tune .... oh well ....

LOL..Well I've had worse trying to enter these things. But yea yesterday there was just no luck. I got the rythm down, even a nice bassline tapped out on the tele but the main bit the sax and piano normally does was just impossible. When the better half started coming around looking over my shoulder every now and then I knew now was about a good time to throw in the towel.
