Hey guys,
I thought i would let you all know that Plain Jane, the band that i am in, is going to be playing our very first gig in 2 weeks time. I nervous as hell because it is a private function for the big shots at Highveld Stereo and SABC 3.
I would love to be able to extend an invite to everyone on here but it is a closed function. I am putting together a 45 min - 1 hour set and i am freaking out. I dummo if my song choices are cool, here are some of them:
Bryan Adams - Heaven, Summer of 69
Journey - Don't stop believing
Joss Stone - Super Duper Love
Eric Clapton - Layla, Tears in Heaven
Alanis Morriessette - One Hand in my pocket
We are also doing some christian tracks and 2 originals.
Let me know what you think and if you have some advice on live performance

Relax and have fun - the rest will follow. You seem to be choosing the right kind of material, nothing too hectic. Nerves can take you down a skill level or so at first, so start with the songs you know best and are easiest to nail - as you get those right it'll bolster your confidence, you'll relax and you'll be ready to tackle the more difficult material.
If performance anxiety is a real problem for you, get your doc to prescribe beta-blockers. They're perfectly safe and keep your heart rate and blood pressure down.
