Tails tele on the build

so instead of gassing for gear this month i gassed for tools , to make more guitars (as my garage was cleaned out in jan) . I am going with a standard tele body , ibanez s1 pickup in the bridge , and a v7 or v8 hummer in the neck position with a gibson style switch and a single volume with a coil tap for the hummer .

i have also decided on a wooded scratch plate , just to be different which will be stained a dark cherry color .

the top and bottoms need to be glued together , then loads of sanding to start . and all this done with just a jig saw , drill and orbital sander .

Right i made a wooden plate for this bad boy , but having second thoughts , should i not be putting an aluminum plate on rather to get the sound of tele ashtray style bridge , or won't it make much difference

No. Aluminium will mess with your pickups in a big way - introducing eddy currents in the coils.
