Im new to this forum, i joined looking for some info on a guitar i recently saw in a guitar shop. The guy said it was a 1971 Epiphone acoustic guitar. It has a thin neck, and bolted on like an electric guitar. It looks like a Casino neck, on an acoustic. I did a little research online and coulnt find any other like this, maybe a little imput on whether its worth buying for $275. Thanks

That is a difficult one to answer without a model number or picture, generally the bolt on necks were the cheeper manufactured instruments from Japan. this is however not all ways the case. If you are looking at growing your collection I would suggest that you keep your eyes out for setneck instruments from that period which are more sort after because of the build quality.

Before my time, but it seems kinda pricey for an Epiphone. I know they did bolt on necks for a while, but the fact that theyve quit and nobody else has taken it up should hint at the success of that experiment on a working instrument.... As a collectable though, it should have some rarity value, but how much I honestly do not know. Age is not always the main consideration, so without a model number you might just be burning your fingers.

It could be a Caballero.
I bought one off of BidorBuy a year ago for R500 - original hard-shell case included. It has a bolt-on neck as well. From the bit of research I did it was made in the late-70's in Japan.
Hope this helps.
