12 String guitar with DD GG CC FF AA DD Tuning.

So I purchased myself and old Hagstrom BJ12 12 String Guitar. I want to set it up to live in the DD GG CC FF AA DD Tuning (which is 1 Tone down from the regular tuning)

Has anyone used a 12 string with this tuning and know which strings to recommend? On my Tele, which I tune to D G C F A D I use a custom set with a wound "G" and thicker "B" to help maintain the tuning. Now, I want the 12string to keep its tuning but I dont want it to become a dog to play (the action is a bit high at the moment, but not unplayable, actually quite fine on the open chords). So any suggestions or experience to share?

You can drop down a tone with your favourite gauge and everything will be fine. I (like most 12-string players) usually go lighter on the G octave if I have to replace it (otherwise I'll use the stock).

I play electric 12, so I tend to go for the 10 gauge D'Addario set. I like the Martins on acoustic (I like an 80/20 bronze), but you're pretty safe with any reputable maker.

Sweet, thanks Alan. I was asking because I normally use 11's on my electric and when I first tuned my Tele down, I found that it would not keep its tuning satisfactorily. I normally use 12s on my acoustic... So I'll start there then.
