Feedback?!?!

But oky,the question i have is...how do i get more feedback?!?!

I'v tryd shyking the guitar,standing within,like 1m of my amp...lots of destortion...but i only get a very small amount...any advice plez?

1) Crank volume (you say you're already using lots of distortion, but try it with more gain and volume through the amp?). Some compression can also help, I think.
2) Play a chord, or maybe some harmonics. Introduce guitar to amp speaker, so they can make friends. (Depending on the amount of gain and volume, you won't have to be too close, but first try holding the guitar in front of the amp at speaker level for a while.)
3) Wait.

yeah usually getting feedback is the easy part ..

....................but learning how to control it and turn the ear splitting noise into something musical is the big trick ...........

practise practise practise ........ heheheh and hope you either have a soundproof rehearsal space or very deaf neighbours..hehehhe

Having a distortion pedal that includes natural compression such as a ProCo Rat also helps.

What also influences how easy the guitar goes into feedback is the natural sustain of the guitar....more sustain....easier feedback.

I think also the higher outputs of HB's helps as well....

I see in the photo u have a tele there; single coils. AFAIK humuckers will give u a lot more feedback. But i could be wrong.

noup....no tele at the moment....using my epi Zakk wylde lp or my a jag with HB,tru a gt-8 into my mg100dfx...

i can now get good amonts of feedback(thanx to all)....it seems that more volume was the key....so....there any advice u can give me on how to controle it.....or should i just do the trial and error thing?

Vick just a question... how does the GT-8 sound through the MG amp? I have an MG amp, but have been told that a Boss effects pedal would be wasted through a solid state amp!?!

My GT8 is fine through my Laney Solid state.

there is also an effect to give you feedback on the GT8, it works quite well

Disagree, sounds only half real. Feedback gradually cuts out harmonics it doesn't like and the GT8 does not mimic this properly (to me). I will take a double blind test any day and promise to buy beers for all present if I can't tell the effect from the real thing.

Musicmadness...look,it sounds oky 2 me...but i have playd gt-8's tru tube amps,and it def. sounds bete...but i dont regret bying the gt-8...hope it helps man ?

Getting and controlling feedback has always been a mystery to me... it seems to come when you don't want it, and never when needed. Is there any "beginners' guide" to it somewhere?

The COSM emulation on the GT-8 is an attempt by BOSS to emulate great amps. So the GT8 is actually a solution for us poor guitarsits who cant really afford all those great amps. I use a MG80RCD, which is a solid state amp, and I generally turn of the COSM emulation anyway (To me it hardly ever sounds really good) But the effects patches on the GT8 are great, you just need to spend quite a bit of time configuring them. I usually bypass the COSM (and the pre-amp for that matter) and just use the effects.
