think this would make a cool topic. What is your favourite overdrive/boost pedal infront of a tube amp? you know to cranck the the gain a bit. Some guidelines to follow: 1.What pedal through what amp, even speaker configureation if you wanna go in detail(the more you mention the better)? 2.how do you connect it(through clean or pre amp)? 3.Type of sound you get, what type of genre is it or is it similar sounding to a your favourite guitar hero perhaps? Anyone can think of something else i can add to the list? P.S: there is not a "best" pedal out there, because everyone perspetion of the best sound will differ, that why i rather made id "favourite" i'll post mine later today.

My tone:
Blue Boy Deluxe with a little RAT for lead into a hand wired 1969 Teisco checkmate 25 EL84 driven tube amp!
Custom built 4x10 jensen cab (59 bassman replacement drivers)
Highway1 strat with rosewood board and loaded with Texas Specials!

My favorite is the Ibanez TS808HW, I call it a creamy sparkle! :-[

Into the OD channel, amp gain on 3-4, Pedal drive on 0, level on full.

But lately I've just been using the ease of the GT 10's Tscreamer into my OD channel and amp control to switch to clean.

I'll turn the amp gain down now and then depending on the music.

On the 5150 do you you use the rhythm channel or lead channel?
I find the lead channel a bit 'thinner' ?

sIMPLE a ts808 or clone OR BD2/ mi audio blues pro into a proco rat or a fuzz face or a good clone (mxr fuzz 108) into a fender amp (tube)
For the style its AMAZING.

I don't use any...! I love the sound on my Blackstar, both the clean and drive channels.

Only pedal I do use is a Digitech Hardwire Delay.

The type of sound is pretty much old school blues and rock, although quite capable of going into higher gain stuff easily.

Agree with your DS-1 impressions, on my setup it was trebleoverdrive, part of the reason I flogged it. I want to try my TS-10 into your tube amp next Graemestock. Was thinking of suggestion a 'gear hour' where we can showcase different pedals/equipment etc Hopefully I'll have the Crunch Box by then ?

Blue Boy Deluxe into a vintage style low wattage amp...30-50w. Bassman or DrZ and always a 4x10 open cab.
Thats the best sound i get!
