hey all, this week started off so well with an awesome gig with just myself and my percussionist was a function for university doing instrumental latin american music .... it rocked and went down so well i'm booked there again in Nov so on that positive note i'm all stoked for the weeks shows ahead .....and TJ's was a great showcase once more......... so 2 good ones so far this week ........
fri 28th i'm at Romans pizza in Northmead Benoni ... starting at 6 with a solo set ..... of world music from my cd ... then at 7 my jazz vocalist Alicia joins me for a set of jazz standards
then sat 29th afternoon from 2-30 pm to 3- 30 pm i will be doing a set again with my jazz vocalist but a mix of solo world music and jazz at the worldwear shopping mall on beyers naude......... just off N1 highway.... i know nothing of this gig except what time to be there think it's an event something to do with wine expo ....but don't hold me to that the event co ordinator never elaborated....
then sunday 30 th I do a double gig ....... 1st show again back at Worldwear shopping mall but this time from 10 am to 11 am .... same as above with my vocalist Alicia.... then at 12-30 to 3 pm i have a solo world music gig at Zahava's restaurant 47 grant ave Norwood ..... again if weather is great it's awesome venue in wind protected courtyard under trees......
tues 1st i perform solo world music from 6 to 7 pm at Indaba hotel in fourways at the "dinner of hope" function...tickets are available
cd's will be available for purchase at all the gigs.....

Popped in to see Keira for the first time at the Worldwear Wine tasting event.
If you guys ever get a chance to see Keira, it's definately worth the experience.
Keira and Alicia(the vocalist) were doing a Jazzy set and both were in top form.
I used to think Gabriela (from Rodgigo y Gabriela) had the percussive thing all sorted out.
Keira uses one foot for a drum, one foot for cymbals (tambourine) and the right hand for percussion as well as picking.
