govendl3 high e snapped ...will it be ok to leave the guitar with one string less for some time I dont plan on replacing the high e at this point and will change all 9 gauge strings that came with axe with 11 some time next month Will I damage the neck with the uneven tension, or is it fine
[deleted] DonovanB wrote it will be kak to play with 5 strings. +1 Just change them as soon as you can. putting 11's on will change it a bit, you'll have to do a 'setup'
govendl3 LOL "it will be kak to play with 5 strings." i dont plan playing on five strings i just wont have the time to change until next month some time "Just change them as soon as you can. putting 11's on will change it a bit, you'll have to do a 'setup" Will def do so, i have changed all of my guitars from 9's to 11, not too much of an issue
Sidecar Its a short time, so it shouldn't be an issue. But you will probably have to recheck your intonation and action when you put the 11s on.
Spyke It won't be a problem for a little while, few days/weeks. But try to do it as soon as possible. (After fitting Graphtech nuts I haven't snapped a string in ages)
DonovanB Spyke wrote (After fitting Graphtech nuts I haven't snapped a string in ages) really? have you got the saddles as well?
Spyke DonovanB wrote Spyke wrote (After fitting Graphtech nuts I haven't snapped a string in ages) really? have you got the saddles as well? Nope, just the nut. The saddles seem gentle enough on the strings. I have Graphtech string trees fitted to the Squier Strat as well
govendl3 It was the cheapo strings that the shop fitted when I bought the thing so I am not too stressed I have changed all my guitars from 9's to 11's so i know how too setup i was just scared that the neck would get stuffed some how
