nuts too small

must be the cold weather,

I bought a new nut for the V, while I wait for the Graphtec one, but its too low. The string spacing and width are fine but this is way too low to use.

How do I go about building it up or should I just wait for the other??

I glue strips of wood veneer on the bottom with superglue. Glue it on and cut off the excess with a blade. Quick, easy and sounds good. I've also used strips of thick paper (businesscards work well) and superglue in a pinch.

Ok so its a normal thing to do.
the previous owner of this guitar really did a number on it. I am really keen to get it clean and strung up to play.

I asked the guys at Coastal music (TOMS) to find one. must check if they did. If not I'll buy online.
