Hey you old geezers from the 50s and 60s out there, I believe this month is the 40th Anniversary of one of the BIGGEST (if not THE GREATEST) events that took place in Pop history..........Jimi Hendrix, CSNY, Joan Baez, Santana and much much more...........YASGUR'S FARM..........WOODSTOCK!!!!!!! Also, half of them are either dead or on pension...who do you remember??
Unfortunately I only saw the movie documentary a few years later........

I was 6 years old at the time and a fan of the Beach Boys and living in Durban RSA, a bit too far away!
It ran from August 15 to August 18 1969, so it's spot on 40 years ago. ?

On the second day which would have been 16 August 1969, a band called Quill performed.
I have never heard of this band, anyone else know who "Quill" were?

Never heard of Quill......AFAIK, lots of the lesser known bands played at "ODD" hours, like when people were either zonked out or sleeping, or in the mornings etc., and the BIG NAMES performed at more "popular" times. In fact only found out today who John Sabastian really was........
Some are still around today and as popular as ever........eg. Carlos Santana.........I always thought his big break came at Woodstock!

Yet again, coincidentaly I took a book out at the library last week written by the co-producers of Woodstock (the guys who had the cash). I'm a little past half way through and it's hillarious. I can't put it down. It's called 'Young men with Unlimited capital' by Joel Rosenman, John Roberts and Robert Pilpel. Realy try to read it. Here's a little quote discribing work at the Woodstock Ventures offices:
"The people in the rooms seem to move in slow motion when they move at all, hypnoticaly intent on whatever tasks they are performing. " Either this is an optical illusion", Jaffee thinks, "or I've stumbled into an aquarium stocked with humans."
