NorioDS Regarding the classifieds stuff, I'm happy with moving all the classifieds stuff to point to MusicAds.co.za but it will take more work than just moving some board around so it'll have to wait :/ Alan, I like your suggestion regarding the For Sale/Wanted thing. That ought to work as a short-term solution. Drop me an email with your ideas on integrating MusicAds.co.za here if you have any. I'm a bit stumped for ideas there and the answer could be a lot simpler than what I'm thinking right now.
FatBoy How about writing some custom code to pull the username and password of all current members of the forum, and and import script into the musicads database. Also, you can look at a script that will do the same for each new registration, and even one that will pass your session details, maybe username and pass to musicads when you click on the banner. There are a number of ways of doing it, but yea I will need to understand the back-end technologies a bit better to give proper advice. I am a systems integrator, so let me know if you need any help / ideas.

AlanRatcliffe Yeah it's a long term goal to incorporate the one into the other. Also, I feel that in the early stages (which both sites are), it is better to keep them separate to some degree, as each will bring in it's own set of visitors. Combined they get a larger user base than one site. I've got MusicAds basically running itself, so it's low maintenance. There are areas where one site can feed the other with content, utilising RSS to load recent post headlines from one into the other and I think this is the logical next step. So you'll visit MusicAds and see a "Recent posts on Guitar/MusicForum.co.za" box with the five latest post topics as links, and on MusicForum, there will be a box with the five most recent ads on MusicAds.
NorioDS I must definitely try and find a way to do that for the forum. You've suggested it before but it never occurred to me that someone might have already programmed a mod for SMF. Remind me to look into that.
