There was the usual boring array of Taylors, Corts and Larrivees. But also catching the eye and the ear were Keira's R600 pawn shop special and Sue Green's Mervyn Davis classical.
The latter has Kiaat as the tonewood - pretty unusual for this kind of instrument. It's NOT a Smoothtalker, it's a much more conventional guitar. Sounded fab.
I had to explain to one person that Keira had a got her little Yamaha at a P A W N shop. She has a real bargain with that guitar. The poor guitar must be wondering what it has got itself into and why it deserves such a pummeling.
yeah bob hehehh before i rescued that guitar fron pawn shop ... i held her close and she whispered in my ear that she was quite into kink and public displays so a regular spanking in public would be well within the boundries of our relationship ......long as i bought her a secure case and changed her strings every 10 days,,,,,,,,,,, so it was by mutual consent hehehheheheh
oh jokes aside ..... i had fun last night ...... it was great to see "x rated bob" and "big mike" there and all the regulars . malcolm shoulda told me you were on forum........
and yeah the guitars....... the mervyn davis classical was mind blowingly beautiful and had fabulous tone...... unfortunately Bill's (yes i hope i got the name right) guitar was always too soft in mix to hear the tone well........ i liked the sound of debbies guitar ... no idea what it is ... hehhehe what do i know of expensive guitars i buy mine from pawn shops for under a grand heheheh ......... it was very clear and she plays very presicely ...... i liked that....
as for my pawn shop special the yamaha G120 . a laminated top cheapie........ it passed the stage test with flying colours...... i had some of my pro musician friends there who all advised me to drop the more expensive yamaha i ussualy use( a CGX) and use this one...and the fun was with this one i play mic'd up....... which meant now i can toss and spin the guitar around at will.... without a cable in the way..... and one of the pro muso's said that factor of it being more entertaining and visual was worth dealing with the odd feedback issues.. but she said the tone was great ...apparantly rich and warm...... so no sacrifice.......so yeah now to learn to twirl this baby heheheheh ..........
anyway it played well..... and i had fun trying to cope with the mic'ing technique which is new to me........ and so last night was a fab learning curve for me to...... and a great show...... and i managed to sell a lot of cd's after the show yay for that.........
peace and light
