sepheritoh Don't know if this has been posted yet. I know, there are millions of lists of everybody's favorite lists. This site is pretty cool and has lists of about everything. http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_newguitar.html Their list is pretty close to my taste. From their top 50 greatest guitar solos I had 37 in my iPod favourites http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_guitarsolo.html Their taste in movies would probably appeal better to my mother than to me, but interesting nevertheless! http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/movie-pages/movie_movies.html
AlanRatcliffe I've seen this before, but he's expanded it quite a bit since I saw it. I think it was originally just the list from Guitar World mag, but he's now removed a few of the no-talents who got in because their band was popular and added a lot more good players. How Robby Krieger (the Doors) got in (and stayed in) I'll never know - he's always struck me as the real weak point of the band. I can't actually think of anyone who isn't included somewhere in the list now that it's more a "Top 200" with an extra "honourable mentions" section. Quite cool. I'm pleased to say I know the work of 98 of the top 100 and probably 90 of the next 100.

AlanRatcliffe I had a head start - my mother was into the '50s and '60s Rock 'n Roll, Elvis, the Shadows, Chet Atkins, Django Rhineheart and John Williams (et. much al.). So I grew up with that stuff and a lot of classical music too. I took it further and in return introduced her to Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Vai, Malmsteen and Satch (poor woman). She never quite got over having told the manager of the Cavern club in Liverpool that if "That band ever plays here again, I'm not coming back!". "That band", was of course the Beatles. ;D
