giggsy Just wanted to check if it was someone on the forum yesterday that picked up that semi-acoustic for R300? I was the 26th person to inquire about it, and that was half an hour after it was put up. Pity that someone else was on their way already to check it out. Would love to know what its like???
giggsy The shoddy pic yesterday didn't give too many clues, but I see its up again now from the buyer, and it is an Aria Diamond, and its up for R2000.
AlanRatcliffe The Diamonds were the budget range and the archtops were bolt-ons (I had one once). Alright, but nothing to write home about. At that price, I'd probably give it a miss, save a little more and wait for an IBZ Artcore or one of the hollowbody Corts to pop up.

AlanRatcliffe I don't know that model specifically, but I know similar models and many of the parts from other Arias. Very microphonic single coil pickups, very uncomfortable bridge that's prone to rattles, bolt-on (not ideal for an archtop) and generally very "clunky" feeling (for want of a better word).
giggsy For R300 I would have taken it without blinking, maybe anything still in three figures, but for R2000...
Attila Hey I have one of these in pristeen condition. and sounds quite good too. I was selling it a while ago and the deal fell through, you know these capetonians .. unrealiable bunch ha ha... ? The roller bridge is noisy which is transfered to the pickups. but in two ticks you can turn it into a hardtail I was thinking about making some permanent changes to the bridge and pickups but dont know what to do just yet. I will consider a swap of sorts if interested .... giggsy
aja giggsy wrote For R300 I would have taken it without blinking, maybe anything still in three figures, but for R2000... He probably meant to type R3000 then lowered it to R2000
giggsy Had a second bite at the cherry... and missed again. ☹ The guy who bought it for R300 and was selling it for R2000 dropped his price to R900. I was going to offer R800 and then strip it and paint it white, but someone got in before me... So Atilla, I'll swap you R800 of my South African Ronds for your guitar!
