epiphone les paul studio any good?

So i finally found one, i have been looking for it for a long time but i have never played on one. LOL. Just always loved the look and sound of a "gibson" so my main question is it any good? i dont want to change out the pickups? Does it stay in tune nicely? i would just like your thoughts an opinions. Oh yes and its second hand for R7000 with case?seemed abit steep?

I might be confused but no it is not good and that is about three times what it is worth.

R7000 seems a bit steep. If you are looking for the sound and looks of a Gibson, do take a look at Vintage (http://www.jhs.co.uk/vintageelectric.html) as well. In my opinion, they look and sound better than the Epiphones, and are becoming easily available. Good prices as well.

hmmm those vintage DO look and sound good on the clips. I am looking specifically for a WHITE one which i see they do make ? Who supplies them in SA? i would be interested to see the pricing.

Alan - that link doesnt seem to work? BUT 3.5k seems REAL decent ? thats more my price range too.

Wehen I bought my LP100 there was a LP Studio going for R2000.

R7000 is ambitious. But The LP100 and LP Studio are very similar. The body is lighter than the standard Les Paul and the in-lays on the neck are different. Sounds good, feels good. Mine needs new machine heads though.

I have just purchesed a Vintage V100 excellent guitar, much better than any epiphone I have played
I have been looking for a decent Epi for almost a year now, and did not find anything that I liked
I was directed to the vintage brand about a 2 months ago, and after have now bought one
There is a the V100 with set neck and then the V99 with bolt on both mahogony neck and body, both play great
As close as I one can get to Gibson tone on a very tight budget

NICE! who did you get it form? if you dont mind me asking what you paid for it more/less?
