Raining in Joeys this morning

Bob-Dubery

And the humidity is up. So open up those cases. Let those guitars breathe in the watery air.

Squonk

It really is raining...

I have been awake since 05:00, listening to the sound of the rain.
There goes my Braai plans for today! ?

Braai is only so bad. My problem is that I can't spray in this weather... ☹

I heard reports of snow in Roodepoort and Krugersdorp.

Seems a little warmer this AM, but the humidity is still up there.

When in the UK in June I bought some damp-its. These are very flexible (in more ways than one) humidifiers that can be used with just about any instrument. They even come in different sizes. I have been using a cello damp-it with my Morgan. They come with a little stick-on-the-wall humidity indicator. It doesn't give an exact measurement. It has a set of graduated bars coated with something that changes color with relative humidity. The bars represent approximately 10% increments and have labels like "safe", "use humidifier", "check humidifier daily".

And even more general mode of usage is to look at the colours of the bars. The more blue you see the drier it is, the more pink the more humid. Yesterday morning it went "all pink" for the first time since I got back from the UK. Still "all pink" this morning.

Yup, it snowed by us in Honeydew. I loved it ?

Well, Durban is sunny and warm as usual.

Squonk

Thanks Don! :'(

I have been trying to find ways of spending winters in Durban and summers in JHB, but haven't got it right yet.
I always take my annual leave in July and usually spend about 3 weeks in Scottburgh. So I lose a bit of the highveld winter in the process!

DonovanB

nah, Durban is great all year round.

except October actually. It gets very windy then.
